Volunteering
Dedicated people sharing our enthusiasm for animal welfare
Volunteers form a vital part of our team, assisting in our roles. Training, support & guidance is given & a member of staff is always on hand. Anyone under the age of 18yrs needs to be accompanied by a responsible adult, this person must be associated to the individual seeking volunteering. A passion for helping animals and willingness to undertake vital roles is all you need to become a dedicated member of our team. We have lots of great opportunities to get involved.
“Volunteering gives me a sense of purpose. Spending time interacting with the dogs and cats, making a positive difference to their lives, however big or small, is very rewarding. I love giving the animals lots of cuddles and always get unconditional love in return. The staff are devoted to the animals and it makes me proud to be part of the team”. Julie
“I have been volunteering at the kennels for a number of years. It gives me some animal time without the commitment of having my own pet. I help feeding, cleaning and walking. Although primarily a dog person; I am enjoying the cats as well. I enjoy taking the dogs for a slightly longer walk and discovering their individual personalities. A lovely couple of mornings every week.” Lesley
"When I retired, I wanted to do volunteer work with animals. I found out about Animal Concern and am working with dogs and cats. It is so rewarding to see the change in the animals. Sometimes they are very sad when the come to the Centre. With the love and care they get from us, they go to their new homes happy. I have made lots of new friends, it is so lovely being part of a team looking after animals." Maureen
